Introduction
GIF files can carry extra metadata blocks beyond their visible frames, comments, application-specific extensions, even embedded plain text, some of which you might not want to keep before sharing a file.
This tool removes all of that non-essential metadata in one step, entirely client-side.
What Is GIF Metainfo Deleter?
A metadata-stripping tool for GIFs: it decodes an uploaded file and re-encodes it through this category's shared codec, which only ever writes the essential blocks every GIF needs to play, header, palette, per-frame timing and pixel data, and (when relevant) the Netscape loop extension.
Anything else the original file carried, comments, other application extensions, plain text blocks, simply isn't written back out.
How GIF Metainfo Deleter Works
The GIF is decoded into fully composited RGBA frames using this category's shared codec, which reads (and then discards) any comment, plain text, or non-Netscape application extension blocks as part of normal parsing.
Those decoded frames are then re-encoded with the same shared encoder every other tool in this category uses, which by design only ever emits the minimal essential block set, so the round trip itself is the stripping step.

Developer Notes
This tool's lib function is intentionally just `decodeGif` followed by `encodeGif` with no extra logic in between, the stripping guarantee comes entirely from what the shared encoder chooses to write, documented here rather than duplicated in a bespoke block-filtering pass.
