The lib function (prepareJpgForWebp) is a thin validation/clone step over the already-decoded pixel buffer, mirroring this site's PNG-to-WebP converter; there's no color-space transform needed since a decoded JPEG's output is already a strict subset of what WebP can represent. Because the output format isn't JPEG, this tool paints its own local canvas and calls canvas.toBlob('image/webp', quality) directly rather than using the shared JpgPreviewPanel, which is hard-coded to JPEG output.
