Multi-Open Accordion

A flexible accordion where each question toggles independently: opening one item never closes another. Each row swaps between a plus and minus icon to reflect its own open state, so visitors can compare several answers side by side.

Installation

A real shadcn registry command, not a copy-paste stand-in: it fetches this block plus its dependencies and any missing npm packages, and installs them straight into your project.

npx shadcn add https://staaarter.com/r/multi-open-accordion.json

Prefer not to use the CLI? Copy the source from the Code toggle above into src/components/blocks/faq/faq55.tsx instead.

Usage

The file also exports faq55Demo, the exact props behind the preview above. Spread it to get a working section in one line, then replace it with your own data.

import { Faq55, faq55Demo } from "@/components/blocks/faq/faq55";

export default function Page() {
  return <Faq55 {...faq55Demo} />;
}

Props

PropTypeDefaultDescription
badgestringnoneOptional small uppercase label above the heading.
headingstringnoneSection heading.
descriptionstringundefinedOptional supporting copy under the heading.
itemsQaItem[]noneQuestion and answer pairs rendered as independently toggled accordion rows.
classNamestringnoneExtra classes for the outer section element.

Types

type QaItem = { question: string; answer: string };

Behavior notes

  • Real interactivity: open row indexes are tracked in a Set of state, so clicking any question toggles only that row's membership without closing the others already open.
  • The first item is open by default; every row exposes aria-expanded and aria-controls, and swaps a Plus/Minus lucide icon based on its own open state.
  • The answer panel animates open/closed with a CSS grid-rows transition rather than mounting/unmounting content.
