Developer Notes
Weekday lookup uses `new Date(Date.UTC(year, 0, 1)).getUTCDay()` rather than the local-time `Date` constructor, so the result is identical regardless of the browser's configured time zone; year and range parsing both go through the same strict regex before any date math runs.
