QR Code Device Login

Full-height cross-device sign-in screen: a fixed, decorative QR-code-look grid, a manual fallback code in a monospace pill with a real clipboard-copy button, and a pulsing "Waiting for confirmation" indicator.

Installation

A real shadcn registry command, not a copy-paste stand-in: it fetches this block plus its dependencies and any missing npm packages, and installs them straight into your project.

npx shadcn add https://staaarter.com/r/qr-code-device-login.json

Prefer not to use the CLI? Copy the source from the Code toggle above into src/components/blocks/auth/auth31.tsx instead.

Usage

The file also exports auth31Demo, the exact props behind the preview above. Spread it to get a working section in one line, then replace it with your own data.

import { Auth31, auth31Demo } from "@/components/blocks/auth/auth31";

export default function Page() {
  return <Auth31 {...auth31Demo} />;
}

Props

PropTypeDefaultDescription
headingstring"Sign in with your phone"Heading above the QR pattern.
descriptionstring"Open the app on your phone and scan this code to sign in instantly."Helper text below the heading.
fallbackCodestring"7F3K-WXQ2"Manual code shown in the monospace pill and copied to the clipboard.
waitingLabelstring"Waiting for confirmation…"Label next to the pulsing status dot.
classNamestringnoneExtra classes for the outer section element.

Behavior notes

  • The QR-code-look grid is a fixed, hand-written 11x11 on/off pattern (including corner "finder" rings for visual authenticity). It is decorative only, not generated from real sign-in data and not a scannable code.
  • The copy button uses a real navigator.clipboard.writeText(fallbackCode) call and shows genuine "Copied!" feedback for 1.5s via a client-side timeout; if clipboard access is denied by the browser it fails silently.
  • The pulsing dot next to the waiting label is a pure CSS animation (animate-ping), it does not represent a real polling connection.
  • The whole file is a client component for simplicity, even though only the copy button strictly needs local state.
