This tool decodes a GIF, lets you type the exact frame order you want, and rebuilds a valid animated GIF from it.

It works entirely in your browser using a hand-rolled GIF89a codec, so the file you upload is never sent anywhere.

A structural GIF editor that reorders an animation's existing frames according to a list of 0-based indices you provide, rather than adding or removing any image data.

Because the list doesn't have to be a strict permutation, it doubles as a lightweight way to repeat or drop individual frames while you're at it.

How GIF Frame Rearranger Works

The GIF is decoded into a flat array of fully composited frames, each with its own image and delay. Your comma-separated index list is validated against that array's length, then used to build a new frame array by picking frames from the original in the order you specified.

The reordered frames are re-encoded as a fresh GIF89a file using this category's shared LZW encoder and web-safe color palette, keeping the original loop count.

The reorder logic is a thin, deliberately permissive mapping step: unlike a true "permutation only" reorder, arbitrary repeats and omissions are allowed by design, since validating a strict permutation would reject perfectly reasonable remix use cases for no real benefit.
