Transparency in a GIF isn't visible at a glance the way color is; a transparent pixel just looks like whatever's behind it. This tool makes transparency itself directly visible by rendering it as a grayscale mask.
Because it processes every frame, you can see not just whether a GIF has transparency, but exactly where it is and whether it changes as the animation plays.
What Is GIF Alpha Mask Viewer?
A read-only alpha-channel visualizer for animated GIFs: it converts each frame's alpha values into brightness, producing a white-to-black grayscale image per frame.
White represents fully opaque pixels, black represents fully transparent pixels, and shades of gray represent partial transparency, giving a direct visual map of a frame's transparency.
How GIF Alpha Mask Viewer Works
The GIF is decoded into its fully composited frames. For each pixel in each frame, the tool reads only the alpha channel value (0-255) and writes that same value into all three color channels of a new, fully opaque mask image.
The result is a set of grayscale mask frames, one per source frame, that can be viewed as thumbnails or downloaded together as their own mask GIF using the source animation's original frame timing.

Common Mistakes
