Introduction
Knowing a GIF has transparency somewhere isn't always enough; sometimes you need to know how much, and roughly where. This tool scans every frame and reports both.
It's a fast, numeric alternative to visually scanning through frames or generating a full alpha mask image, useful when you just need the facts for a quick check or a script.
What Is GIF Transparent Pixel Finder?
A per-frame transparency locator: for each frame of a GIF, it counts the non-fully-opaque pixels and computes the smallest bounding box that encloses them.
It complements GIF Alpha Mask Viewer, which shows the same underlying data as a visual grayscale image rather than as a count and coordinates.
How GIF Transparent Pixel Finder Works
The GIF is decoded into its fully composited frames. Each frame's pixels are scanned once, tracking a running count of pixels with alpha under 255 and the running minimum/maximum x and y coordinates seen among them.
Once a frame's scan finishes, its count and bounding box (or 'none' if no transparent pixels were found) are recorded, and the tool reports totals across all frames.

Use it when you need to confirm precisely how much of a frame is transparent, not just whether any transparency exists.
It's also useful for spotting whether transparency is concentrated in a specific region (like a logo's edge) versus scattered across the whole frame.

Bounding boxes are computed with a single-pass min/max tracker per frame rather than a second pass, keeping the scan at O(width x height) per frame regardless of how much transparency is present.

- Divide the transparent pixel count by width x height to get a percentage if you need one; the tool reports raw counts per frame.
